Lino di Fiandra

Fabrics made with Fiandra Friesian flax

HIGH MECHANICAL STRENGTH
QUIK ABSORPTION OF MOISTURE
100% BIODEGRADABLE COMPOUNDS

It’s a fabric made in Italy using only vegetable fibers with a strong connotation of ecological and comfort. The texture is composed of raw quality Friesian flax, grown in Northern Europe, combined with wood fibers obtained from wood of Scandinavian spruce, birch and willow or cotton twine in two parts.

The flax has by far the greatest ability to absorb moisture in comparison to any other type of fiber, whether synthetic, artificial or natural. This physical characteristic, explains very well the reason for the extraordinary sensation of freshness and well-being that only the linen fabrics are able to pass when used in direct contact with skin. Many man-made artificial fibers, were used as a substitute for wool, silk or cotton, but none could even remotely imitate the flax, that possesses a high mechanical strength, antistatic, insulating, antibacterial and therefore tending not to rot (Fiber prerogatives “Hi-Tech” together in a product with a strong bio-ecological connotation).

The use of vegetables fiber in its raw state, avoids the use of any type of substance that can leave traces in the sol and pollute groundwater.
